Skiltek Computer Centre is
accredited to conduct higher level DOEACC course under Ministry of
Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India. DOEACC has four levels
of courses O, A, B and C levels certifying Foundation, Advanced Diploma, MCA and M.Tech level respectively. Skiltek Computer Centre is accredited to conduct O, A and B level
Courses.
Of career oriented computer
education and moulding qualitative manpower for the fast growing
Information Technology (IT) industry in India. DOEACC is the
brainchild of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and
functions under the Department of Electronics (DoE), Ministry of
Information Technology, Govt. of India.
Under DOEACC,
computer training institutes/organizations in the non-formal sector,
subject to adherence to well defined norms and criteria, are granted
accreditation for conducting specified levels of courses. These
courses are: 'O' - a Foundation level, 'A' - an Advanced Diploma
level, 'B' - an MCA level and 'C' - an M.Tech level in Computer
Science. The syllabi and the examination questions for the courses
are developed by an expert panel drawn from academia, industry and
Government.

IT UNDERSTANDING AND SOFTWARE

Software development is
the world's fastest growing industry. With a Compounded Annual Growth
Rate (CAGR) of 14.5%, it is poised for accelerated growth in the
coming years. Keeping pace with the growth in global software
industry, Indian software industry has also registered one of the
fastest growth rates.
By the year 2002, Indian software exports
are expected to reach US $ 10 billion. DOEACC and accredited
institutions too is playing its part-by laying special emphasis on
software training in all its levels of courses.

GOVERNMENT RECOGNITION OF
DOEACC COURSES |
The Ministry of Human Resource
Development, Government of India has recognized 'O' Level and
'A' Level examinations conducted by Department of Electronics
Accreditation of Computer Courses (DOEACC) scheme equivalent to
Foundation Course and Advanced Diploma Level Course for the purpose of
employment to posts and services under the Central Government vide
notification Nos.F-18-23/98-TD. V/TS-IV dated 01.03.96 and 10.04.96.
DOEACC Courses are recognized by All Indian Council of Technical
Education (AICTE), Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), Public
Sector Undertakings (PSUs) and Private Sector Undertakings, banks etc.
DOEACC qualifiers are eligible for registration in employment
exchanges for job assistance. DOEACC Diploma is also recognized for
jobs in multinational and national companies.
'B' level
qualification is recognized by Ministry of Human Resource Development,
Government of India, equivalent to MCA degree for purpose of services
and employment in Government, vide. Government of India gazette
notification No. F.2/6/97/-T.S. III A (.)54 dated 11, November, 2000.
'A' level
examination of DOEACC has been declared as equivalent to Fundamental
Information Technology Engineer's Examination (FE-SS) of Japan. The
qualification are also eligible for employment in Japan and also in
Japanese MNCs in Asia and other countries. 'B' (MCA) level
qualifiers are eligible for H1-B VISA.

Three major components of the DOEACC scheme are:
Accreditation, Registration and Examination.
vACCREDITATION The major
considerations governing accreditation are:

The institute must have
qualified and experienced faculty. |

The institute's library
must have a good selection of books and subscribe to
scientific and technical journals of relevance. |

Hands-on training using
computers should form atleast one half of the allocated time
for instructions and training. |

Infrastructure in terms of
hardware & licensed software should be self-sufficient and
updated. |
vREGISTRATION With the DOEACC Society, registration
is a pre-requisite for candidates appearing in the examinations.
Registration is valid for a specified period. A candidate can
register only for one particular level, viz, O, A, B or C, at a
time. Registration is open to candidates throughout the year.
However, cutoff dates have been prescribed, with reference to
January & July examinations.
vEXAMINATIONS The DOEACC Society, Government of
India, conducts examinations for all the levels, twice each year, in
January and July, at several cities and towns including those in the
remote areas of the country. These examinations are conducted
independently and are overseen by an Examination Board consisting of
experts/professionals from premier academic institutes and software
houses.
The Syllabi for the different levels are
designed and finalised by a Syllabus Committee for each level,
consisting of academicians and professionals from the computer field
including representatives from the IT industry. Syllabi are updated
at very short intervals to meet the requirements of the
industry.

PROVIDING THOROUGH GUIDANCE |
In the rapidly changing world of
Information Technology and Computer Software, the faculty needs to
be updated. For this purpose, the DOEACC Society organises 'Faculty
Development Programmes', from time to time, at different places in
the country, for the professionals engaged in imparting training in
various accredited institutes.

CASTING THE IDEAL CAREER
MOULD |
The DOEACC scheme
provides improving career opportunities in the field of Computer
Software and Information Technology. The basic entry levels is a
10+2 or 10+ITI qualification. There is also a provision for
horizontal entry at higher levels for students and professionals
with university degree qualifications. Depending on the educational
qualifications, a student can select one of the four levels of
O/A/B/C. The DOEACC qualifications are recognised for Government
jobs too.
